Fun Fact About Our Name!
Ototoi no MONO (オトトイのもの) means “The Things of Ototoi”—but its meaning runs deeper than translation alone.
When written in kanji (一昨日の物), it signifies “the day before yesterday”, a poetic nod to the past’s influence on the present and future. It reminds us that every creation carries a story—woven from experiences, memories, and moments that shape who we are.
In katakana (オトトイのもの), the name takes on a modern, playful energy. In Japanese, katakana is often used for borrowed words, foreign names, and onomatopoeia, giving it a contemporary, globally inspired feel. This reflects the spirit of Ototoi himself—the heart and inspiration behind this collection.
